The barb-shooting-gun Princess Sophia totes ended up providing theming and a gameplay hook, and eventually the student who prompted the design accepted the cartoony Stinger gun over the realistic gun she had in mind. Afterwards, my students designed their own characters!

personally im fond of a dromaeosaur(raptor) look that has wings attached to the talon hand, making it a nice little mix (i like normal wing-hands fine, but if the style isnt cartoony enough they feel weird to do)
