some of those influences I can easily pick up on are the Ice King being made from the Snow Miser (the Rankin Bass ideal of a villain who isn't all that bad, they're just antisocial and awkward), Tree Trunks from Winnie The Pooh, or the golem from Thank You and 1982's The Snowman

Joseph Cornell loved the glamour that came with Tony Curtis's visits, but was not a fan of Curtis's own art, especially when it showed any Cornell-like traits.
