Also to add onto that last bit, the artists you're following prob aren't posting their worst work and struggles. The left is my "1st" background, but I can't tell you how many times I redid it. This portrait took longer than the right 1 because I was still learning, & that's ok.

done in under half an hour! i feel very accomplished. i've never done a drawing like this! i made three layers (ngl i did it so i could use a photo editor a bit to blur the background, but even considering that, it turned out pretty good and i'm quite happy with it!
Originally, it was a minimal blue background, but I felt that it was too lonely. So, I changed it to the warm-colored one 😂. But, I'll place this one here too
