@bdragon74 @Helmie_Art Basically Blaze's origin is a Pegasus being corrupted by Nightmare Moons darkness. Making him a bat pony is an additional layer of corruption, where he loses his visible "humanity" in favor of serving the queen.
Also he was originally a dragon OC, so it can be a nod to that

@JayGib93 In old concept art, Cindy's hair was originally black. Along with jimmy's striped shirt from the pilot in the third picture, it can be assumed these toys were designed VERY early in the development of the movie.
And of course, their shiny versions! Originally these were actually supposed to be the default colors. But the yellow versions just looked SO good I had convinced myself it should be the default.
