The ring had to form around the planetoid with plenty of space for it's axis rotation. This is how it looks from the front, with the silicone cloud cover slightly lifting. and we can spot the tiny spires on top.

Low saturation colours. I love them so much. They are very pleasing to look and doesn't make your eyes tired.

Krita Filter Layer -> Slope, Offset, Power. Adject colours slightly until you are satisfied. It's a great tool.

Short answer, I love this. Slightly longer answer, I’d read if he were writing the phone book, & has been a favorite since his indie comic days (check out The Stray). Good times to be had, & a couple plot twists thrown in to keep fans guessing.
