Update: I tried to do my own take with the YCR Idle too.
Some notes: I don't like the melting mouth thingy so I didn't do that and I added little crystals in the spikes instead of purple glow. That's all. Xd

I always liked to headcanon that Spiked Koopa was a mole, send by Bowser to pose as part of Syrup's crew, in a scheme to get the golden Peach statue for himself.
It's a fun thought that, alongside Wario, Mario and Syrup, Bowser was also involved in the fight over the statue.
@YaBoiLeo2 Spike's paws and tail tip, from a glance, share the same colour as his horn and back spikes. All these parts are made of his Ostachi "skeleton", meaning that not only does his body lack proper limb ends, but he has no nerves at those points either
