Now the first idol is Hijikata Toshizo. Commander of the Shinsengumi (新選組) special Bakufu police force from 1868–1869. He also attacked & occupied Goryokaku fort, & became Deputy Defence Minister of the shortlived Ezo Republic. He was killed in the Battle of Hakodate.
