RGBA masking requires an RGBA texture - this defines where the shader acts on the mesh. Left, map. Right, shader setup. The region in red can be changed in shader to display as yellow, etc.

The last couple hours I've been making a new ship exterior-map. The one on the left is from the S.S. Anne from FRLG. I didn't use it because it barely looks good for what it's meant to be, so I made a new one from scratch! It's not perfect, but I am quite pleased with myself. 🥰

Next up I'm tossing out the contours I drew in the water in favour of the more blended look of the DEM. But I'm keeping the contours I drew for the Land to give it a more 'measured' or topographic feel.

This creates the core layers of the base colours for the map.
