1. the left are illustrations (1 model) and the right are from comics. comics are usually more expressive and cartoony

I kinda wanted it to take a character/cartoony appearance at the very end.
Sonic is a series featuring Felix the Cat/Looney Tunes-esque characters at the end of the day.
As for the Japanese/manga/shonen side of things, most monsters in Dragonball also end up looking human-ysh.

I think overall I'd like to move away from a cartoony style which I only drew because it was easy and I was scared to advance lol. Nothing wrong with it, but I think I'd like to move to semi-realism just to suit my own personal tastes ^^
