it is. i took a grainy low res version of it, manipulated the colors, blew it up big and smudge brushed it to look like a painting :) what an amazing program! so fun! here is another closeup.

A little experiment piece I did. Chris Wahl has a great technique of using the 'just add water' tool in Painter to turn his pencil drawings into super smooth rendered paintings. I used it here to smooth out the face of a slightly grainy watercolor.

I use PS6's default grainy airbrush and resize it as needed - thankfully the texture on this one isn't held constant, so the brush at 300px has a larger grain than the same brush at 100px. I'll layer different brush sizes or erase w/ the same brush as needed for definition!
