Just by way of follow-up: to be fair Lichtenstein's 1950s work was pretty lackluster. And one could argue that it was precisely all those years of rejection and difficulty that turned him into the artist we now know

i like Niagara's Bad Girl art. it's definitely inspired by Lichtenstein's Crying Girl stuff but everyone of them is full of neon colored women who'd ride you then shoot you dead

Anyway the ONLY good I found from Lichtenstein? Artists in comics took inspiration from pop art did it better. Like Not even joking, I think everyone looking at the pop art scene made better pieces inspired by it rather then the scene itself. also no dumb "ironic" bullshit.

Roy Lichtenstein and his consequences have been a disaster for the world of comics.
He actually had people thinking this was what comics were supposed to look like! Imagine if he'd used his larger canvas size and smaller work load to ADD detail and emotion rather than removing it
