*NOT A SPOILER... yet?* Recently I decided to FINALLY read Lore Olympus and... let's just say I read the entire series in about a day and a half. It is *fantastic.* A very different, interesting take on the Greek myth... Warning: it contains trauma, sexual violence, and assault.

-Lamp Origins- 🧞
'The Fisherman and the Jinni' -from the Arabian Tales-
has a genie bound in a jar. When the jar is opened the genie comes out in a plume of smoke.
So, the concept of a genie bound to a household container does have a basis in Arabic myth.

Bears are revered creatures in Finnish myth. The Otso, or Kings of the Forests, are highly intelligent & divine bear spirits. Some legends claim they're created when a human flees civilization & becomes transformed by the forest.

Day 6 of is maybe my favourite. Look at this wee happy guy. The theme was France and I've been thinking about the word Flambe a lot. Merged Flambe with the Dahu from French Myth. Tried a Gen 1 art style.

I've been screaming PERFECT NOTHING for god knows how long and I am restraining myself from making a version of this detailed drawing where I make the pins say "FUCK YOU" instead of "DIO" thanks to what I drew earlier. Grazie, Myth.

I have posted this before, but due to the recent news behind Carson taking a break for mental health reasons, I wouldn't mind being another person to show my appreciation to the legend and myth. More Carson fanart on the way!

Ever hear the tale of Whitebear Whittington? An Appalachian shapeshifting tale, a complex, magical blend of Beauty & the Beast and the Eros/Psyche myth. A young girl is promised by her father to a young man under a spell - a man by night, but a bear by day.

// Draupadi, obviously. Arjuna's first wife.
She loved him immensely, as shown in the myth. From designing the challenge to win her hand in marriage specifically around Arjuna, to falling at the end of her life for loving him more than anyone else.
