Facial reconstruction of an ancient Atmoran from Saarthal, dated to the late Merethic Era.
Life reconstruction and composite skeletal of the very dubious "Arizonaspinus cristati"
I meant to rip sprites from TEIN to make a Will Smith meme but instead I figured out how to make clean rips and reconstruct screenshots (kinda).
Go nuts #TheEndIsNigh
A little late to the spinosaur trend as everyone has moved on to Amargasaurus, but I wanted to do a quick reconstruction of the Baryonyx from the paper. Some palaeos have brought up legitimate concerns, but it has a really cool silhouette I wanted to explore.
@FredtheDinoman I think my absolute favorite is brachiosaurus, then besides that I really love allosaurus, spinosaurus, and therizinosaurus when it’s reconstructed well.
#FossilFriday Leti (U. W. 110) is the first skull of a Homo naledi child found. This pic compares its 3D reconstruction with other Homo naledi specimens (top) and other hominins (bottom). Credit: Brophy J.K. et al. (2021)
I also wrote a scripts in MEL (Maya Embedded Language) to visualize the quantified deformation, and also morph the surface approximation with the reconstruction in @AdskMaya. All code and data is available in the supplementary information: https://t.co/TNmxVuhFPD 13/n
Ichthyornis has a peculiar sternum with highly crossed coracoid sulci. Skeletal asymmetry, while uncommon in vertebrates, it is challenging for retrodeformation. However, using our new workflow we were able to reconstruct the complete sternum including the asymmetrical parts 10/n
However, they do not include surface texture and minute shape variation on the surface (hence less precise). The low resolution also allows to easily combine multiple fragmentary specimens into a composite reconstruction and, more importantly, include asymmetrical components 9/n
sometimes I'll "reconstruct" some of the vectors from anime screencaps to add in missing cropped out body parts to form a complete vector like the Usagi and Minato one. This is only possible if there is an easy way to reconstruct any missing limb with another.
Since Spinosaurus is making the rounds again, have one of my reconstructions and a sketch of it 😊 in non-roaring, non extra aggressive, pretty chilled poses 😊
Continuing with my reconstructions of dinosaurs that will appear in Jurassic World Dominion, here is Gallimimus bullatus, one of the largest Ornithomimosaurs
@chrisramzie oooh! i didn't know you were going to be accepting ocs at some point
honestly, now i'm feeling curious how you'll reconstruct sunshine bomber into this~☀️
Reconstruction (image: Bradshaw Foundation) of the Xagħra Circle site, Għawdex, in the Maltese Islands. A natural cave was modified and monumentalised, and used as a burial site for many generations in the Late Neolithic. 220,000 human bones have been excavated here.
I’ve been in a weird funk lately and also been super busy, so super sorry about that. I tried getting back into the swing of things by just doing some design stuff and pretty much reconstructing an old OC I made in middle school, so here :)
