Azuki is smoother, whereas Muri uses harsh contrasting shading style. I personally prefer Azuki art better but to say one is a copy of other isn't right. Roadmap, delivery and ecosystem of Muri is also strong.

A major clear of jump in skill, yet, what bothers me is that why is it still as hard and taxing on me to draw today like it use to be back then? I thought it would get easier and smoother. But here I am, struguling to draw again because I hit a wall.
The gengar illustration looks like it’d fit in a Kazuo Umezu joint. Love that kabutops just shredding a regular-ass prehistoric fish.

@oceanblurrrr heres an old example of the last time i used it in college & ignoring the errors and minor color edit with it [cuz i made this in 2013] i used a mixture of opaque and transparency here. the thicker it is, the streakier, i'd say- but i'm sure theres ways to make it smoother, 4/
@deadm00n_ Thank you, the lines here are to replicate toru nakayama style of the megaman zero art. I’ve done much smoother lines before (see below, but bough it was only half way done) but I was going for that raw chaotic look on this one
The sculptural work of Beth Cavener is so fluid and the forms flow and squish in such a natural and pleasing way. The unsmoothed finish makes the sculptures look like paintings with brush strokes.
