The Sock Walk! Much like the Talon Trot to get around steep terrain the Sock Walk can be performed to get over rough surfaces as long it’s carpeted.

Public access- How do Crystals, Dottie?

I blob what feels right for surfaces and work from there.
Broken pieces are neat like that for creative freedom! A striking highlight against dark spots really packs a punch for lighting. Scratchy strokes for rough surface texture!

'Reflections: China and Japan' ~ William Orpen (1902).

This is a virtuoso still life painting which demonstrates Orpen's facility at depicting texture and reflective surfaces with flair and skill, and with less emphasis placed on a coherent compositional arrangement.

C is for Carrion Crawler!
I know this one is looking all cute here, but believe me when I say they are dangerous! They can climb difficult surfaces, including ceilings, they have a keen smell and rely on it heavily, they attack twice every round!

Sneak peek of the rendering for one of the portrait sketches i did lately. Feel like i'm disovering the power of proper hard edges combined with smooth surfaces right now :'D

First shading update.
Still needs some tuning and detailing on the skin, but the basics are set. I love how this man standing in the shadows on the left becomes more ominous because of the contrast between details and blurred surfaces!

first attempt at interiors. no idea why its doing that annoying dark spots on some surfaces, and exposure control isn't working :(

have been a little 🤪🤪 in the brain so i made today a big clean house day; dusted, swept, mopped the downstairs, cleaned surfaces/cabinets/doorjambs. i feel maybe 15% better but more importantly everything smells like pinesol

They’re probably referring to how there’s no highlights in them. Eyes are wet, glossy surfaces so they reflect light really well. They end up looking flat and empty without the reflected light in them (also I pointed the pupils more but that’s just my personal preference lol)

Lightning-fast commission with 's Meer-Mah and 's Rayne ⚡️⚡️⚡️
A fun comic reference to work with and more practice with surfaces (also this is the first time I've ever drawn rain!)

(artwork didnt take 4 months??? i must be dreaming)

And here we have the last prism siren, Stella. Due to her many defensive abilities, she's seen as the strongest of her sisters.
Prismatic Fortress, her power, allows her to grow to a bigger size and construct practically indestructible surfaces and walls instantly.

Meet Nanashi, a guy who got struck by magical lightning and now has sweet lightning powers.

He can charge himself with electricity and magnetize himself to metal surfaces, use various electrical attacks and has a high pain tolerance. (1/2)

Conduct your own "scratchy patch" experiment, just like Elinor and her friends! Find a hook-and-loop fastener (like Velcro on a pair of shoes or the band of a watch) and test what surfaces around your home the scratchy part sticks to!

The Egyptians referred to faience as THnt (tjehenet) “that which is brilliant, scintillating, or dazzling”, in view of its reflective qualities, which they associated with the shiny surfaces of semiprecious stones. Faience derives its modern name from its bright colors.
