Page 1 of my comic The River! In progress. Still can't decide if I like it or want to go another direction entirely. I'm worried it's too painterly. Also that if I make the whole thing like this I won't finish. Trying to compromise with the foreground. Does it work?

around 2012 I just gave trying to make a more painterly rendering style simply beause I found it too hard and frustrating, and now I regret giving up back then because my technique could be much better now
