Here’s a current example from my start yesterday on a Ramuh piece. I try to stay super super loose and focus on composition first, values second. Hence the minimal / non-existent detail and lack of accuracy because I don’t use reference until after this stuff.

ok not liking this at all, it took a very unfortunate turn towards cartoony at some point. not even gonna entertain the idea of adding color, but i do think that the values stand out enough on their own to post this.

The currency in my campaign. It's based roughly on the standard set up, but values aren't exactly the same. The system is Pebble=Copper Rock=Silver Stone=Gold, but they're penny, dime, and dollar in value, platinum is 10 dollars, and we pushed Electrum as the 100 dollar bill.
