OH YEAH THE POP ART GOES REALLY WELL WITH THE CHARACTER DESIGNS i think its bc the art style feels so "sharp" in a way where it looks kind of unnatural to me on top of the faces so the more they lean into the pop art the less jarring it looks to me.
Like this one, i like.

at the very least recently (in terms of faces) a big shift happened in the art team (new art manager or director or whatever she seems cool so far) and the usual kind of janky bandori faces (bc i agree that thats always been the weakest aspect of the art style) has been better
