Comparison of what I mean. The first design just had too many conflicting shapes going on. So I'm glad I was able to do a simpler design. As for why there's less armor, I'm using a narrative of him having left stuff behind at an inn (tl;dr explanation)

I also do Non-Narrative stuff! For these, I set a 1 hour time limit and use the lasso, and gradient tool to make these birds. I find that it's a great exercise for learning to think in shapes. Big to Small, General to Specific, and then design.
