if you set the layer to multiply or overlay (multiply is stronger than overlay in this case) then it will affect all colours individually - just use a clipping layer to keep it neat. You can also adjust the strength as required for whatever. Layering it with red can work too.

you can also use purple / red and turn the layer onto multiply! i do it based on the most prominent colour - so if it's red, i use purple, because it will stand out more. But, if I want a particularly warm looking piece I will use red regardless
