In Sweden & parts of Finland, a mini-Halloween takes place on either the Thurs or Sat before Easter. Little girls dress up in rags & old clothes, too-big skirts & shawls & go door to door with a copper kettle looking for treats, in homage to the Easter Witch 🧙♀️

In Japan there is a folktale about 80 suitors who met an injured rabbit on their journey. All were cruel to the rabbit but one, Okuminushi, who was gentle hearted & helped the rabbit. In the end he was the one the princess chose.

Taliesin's Cad Goddeu (Battle of the Trees) describes a fight between Gwydion and the Welsh god of Annwn, Arawn, in which Gwydion brings the trees to life to fight for him. The fight breaks out after Amaethon steals a dog, a lapwing, and a roebuck from Arawn. #FolkloreThursday
