Stoked to be able add “What was left of summer III’ by @Anibal_Ar13 and @mochuger’s piece “Perjuangan” to my collection. These artworks contrast in both mood and themes. @mochuge piece represents our chaotic present while @Anibal_Ar13's our distant future, one that is covid free.
from my most recent post, I think I realize why my artworks from 2020 looked so muddy. there wasn't enough color transition and weak contrast.

They initially teamed up due to their own motives, but it gradually evolved into a greater friendship, growing to care for one another.
Soo a thing i started doing really recently is adding some really heavy contrasting lights in the parts where the darkest shadows go aaaand i think it works and makes everything pop :>
Billy feels sad and useless. (Background is by Tsutomu Nihei, from the manga Blame!, all I did was edit the contrast a bit to make it darker).
Added a thurs glazing pass to these little oil ecietiments,focusing on adding some more color contrast and deeping the contrast. They feel improved, but the change also feels pretty subtle at a glance. Still feel really out on a limb with this.

if i want eyes to stand out or have more contrast, i skip the darker circle in the shading on the top
