Is that second scan a reprint copy of the book? I own the book (sitting on my drawing table right next to me) but I didn't know there was an alt cover. It's a really awesome art book/modeling book if you're a fan of Kondo's work. I also have The Dogs of War manga.

For some there'd be a bit of punching up and remodelling of the tonal values going from traditional scan to sell light source. A lot of this was non destructive and would be incorporated into comp as adjustment layers with effects on them, making it shinier.

Second try on the lines by - I actually went and bought some microns so I have waterproof lines.Ssadly the scan didn't pick up the gold flecks in the background. Maybe I'll get a decent photo tomorrow.
