嘉永2年(1849)閏4月8日、浦賀に来航したイギリス海軍測量艦マリナー号の「船将」たちを描いた肉筆画です(当館蔵)。開港以前に外国人を描いた絵画はめずらしいのです。『図説日英関係史』にも収録しています。
