I think a good plot should have lots of entry points, where someone can read the latest episode and want to learn more instead of being discouraged from reading more. That means introducing new characters as one-off jokes a lot, instead of punishing new readers who are behind.

I get a little discouraged sometimes, looking over my art folder. Bouts of imposter syndrome, not being good enough, etc...
