Aside from that she does try to help them in battle! Mostly as a distraction or bait in some cases! She's also pretty good at espionage. But of course this puts her in situations where the four brothers have to save her. And she's always grateful, especially to Donnie!~ <3

If you think about it, Espio can just be described as “ninja guy” which comes off as one-dimensional. Self disciplined, serious, calm.

It just slides because 1. Everyone likes ninjas and 2. He has a really cool design.

Espio got the nice contrasting greens removed, straight up downgrade, plus he doesn't colour change anymore and his head shape is less unique.
Vector changed entirely and his ouroboros jump ball is gone.
Charmy being bee sized made him unique and now he's just annoying Tails.

Kind of bummed that the MCU version of Ghost made them into the vengeful victim of a freak accident, erasing the whole "corporate espionage" element. Like if you're going to make Ghost an Ant-Man villain, why not have them be a thief who's a foil to Scott Lang?
