It depends. I find I think best with a pencil in my hand but I have a fair amount of muscle memory built up with the Intuos. I have the best digital linework results with a medium neutral tone set to multiply so I can build it up but I keep trying new things.

Lucifer Shiki. Tried drawing the linework on top and then putting color on the bottom row instead of filling in everything. Please tell me if you notice any differences. I really wanted to stick with a white primary, but maybe I should’ve went with the usual.
