Captain Shelley Neptune. Study. 2019. Pencil and marker on paper. 11"x14".

After breakfast we sit talking till six.

From six till eight we gallop through the pine forests which divide Ravenna from the sea; we then come home and dine, and sit up gossiping till six in the morning.

— Percy Shelley, August 10 1821.

I tease because I love Shelley's work, and he sounds like an absolutely fascinating person. My Twitter icon was also done by Sophie; for the Hapless Romantics bios page, she did illos of us after Joseph Severn's portraits of Keats and Shelley
