Much as I love Ted Nasmiths art I’d say Alan Lee is the most versatile, he does both great landscapes and character work, the most life like faces

Interesting to note the different strengths each Tolkien artist has from the same scene, I love Ted Nasmiths Balrog and his mountains are superb but John Howes is much more dynamic it’s a shame Teds Glorfindel looks so stilted in comparison
