Self-taught Joris Hoefnagel was a leading 16C Flemish illuminator and pioneer of still lifes. Here’s some of his many superb nature studies ~ tulip, ichneumon fly, kidney & runner beans ■ pomegranate, worm & peach ■ dragonfly, carnation, pear & insect

I like to use the 2B and 6B pencils for more fluid studies, the ability to tilt the pencil for different line widths and textures really helps for that stylized shading. I like to use a 6b pencil for shading because it requires less pressure for darker lines
Is it narcissistic to do studies of yourself?🪴📙🍒
More PC98 studies using another Screencap re-draw! Mihoshi is also a very personal favorite!

I need to do some studies on hands soon. I like how the hair shape turned out in this though.
