Stupendously late but as commissioned by the lovely Deb Walsh (who specifically asked me to draw anything I had an itch to draw lately hehe) HERE'S 's Connor BUT TINY CONNOR from <3 <3

I've always loved Anne Walshe's two-toned panther: "The panther, a multicolored beast, with only the dragon for its enemy, sleeps off its meal for three days, waking with a sweet-smelling roar that draws other animals to it. The dragon, however, stays away because it is afraid."

This concept art was crafted by for 'The Jiinx of Hecate' (©Richard E Walsh). The character design reflects the style of the film's 2d animation sequences, as Nicole also animated characters and detailed work as a clean-up animator.

Sirens got better looking over time, or learned to camouflage their figure flaws with feathers. Left: Siren and Beaver (Bestiary of Anne Walshe, c. 1452). Right: Siren from Waterhouse Sirens and Ulysses.

Featured this week: Bestiary of Anne Walsh tiles. From left: dog, aspidochelone, pelican and kingfisher, bonnacon. The bonnacon's horns are curved back, so useless for fighting. It saves itself by emitting a projective of dung that scorchers pursuers as a sort of fire.
