日本では牛の肉は牛肉と単純な考え方なのに比べ、英語だとcow(牛)beef(牛肉)と呼び方が異なるのにはイギリスの歴史的な背景があるそうで。

わさビーフのキャラは数年前に「わしゃビーフ」から「わさっち」に改名したらしいんですけど、それまで牛肉として生かされていたと思うとこの表情も納得です。
