The lighter blues, the sketchy line work and shading and more flat colors.
Kinda see what I'm getting at?

One really cool development is that Roo is figuring out the names of colors. She's saying the names of the colors she wants, and I'm making them on the color wheel for her. She quickly realized what I was doing and started messing with the color wheel too.

Today's is is L: Long-tailed Manakin

It takes around five years for males to obtain their adult colors. In this time, they partner with another male and practice their coordinated song and dance routine to impress a female - who only mates with one of them.

The fuck kinda gatekeeping is this?

A: Just because you have a big following doesn’t mean you know EVERYTHING.

B: They don’t call it Evolution in the Manga.

C: The cover during the Moro arc after this moment still uses the normal Blue Colors.

Anatomy and lore post is pinned. Dm for more comprehensive references if you end up drawing. She needs art of her winter molt\shedding giving her a fluffy tail with inverted colors. Kind of like a monster girl encyclopedia bunyip. P.s. "critmus" just means snow is around.

if you have a pretty decent eye for color already but struggle to actually pick harmonious colors, or if you feel that your shading looks too bland, gradient maps are a cheat code/shortcut to correcting your colors. here's some tricks i like to use with gradient maps :)

Day 329: Lineart + flat colors. I'll lay down some better shadows/highlights and then focus on painting general details on top.

Months later, I'm getting too crazy with the colors.
I should mellow out and use softer color combinations, or Toramaru will get mad with me.😅🙈
