idk if that first one is a fanart or the og cover or what, but here's a variant that adds shading to the tail, sending it further behind Leo's torso and avoiding having it look like it's on the same perspective plane.

3. d. [first to last] MEETING RIE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN GENSHIN RAWR 🫶 known as jjba girl, c1 klee bcz i love her sm, this particular drawing since it taught me lots about shading and highlights + the way i drew the hand and this xiao picture because.. i used this for homework..
spent three and a half hours trying to rip the dq9 sprites and only achieved a single one, but here have a lil comparison against the size of the DQ5 sprites
they're way bigger but have much less detailed shading and outlines, thats interesting!
