I’ve been working on a series of drawings to compile as a species ref for the vaeu. The final piece will be accompanied by a huge block of written lore about them. Im just keeping it to linework and colour. No shading for now. Progress is slow, so I’ll post as I go : )

I'm trying to be looser and more expressive with my linework. I think that this might speed things up a lot for the comic.

Also trying to use more hue variation to make my paintings a bit livelier. This won't be implemented for comicking, but definitely for illustration.

I start with linework, then add shading, then add where I want my bright light source to be, and finally I add it around bumps and curves to create a ‘glow’
