also comparing to mlp reboots again I think you can compare gen3 to gen4 and while some characters are simillar you can also tell they're their own thing, the closest being pinkie pie gen3 and gen4 but with monster high only lagoona got a heavy redesign so it feels weird

At lower levels, don't sweat it. Focus on what's safe, unsafe, & knowing reversal options for your character, THEN the rest of the cast.
