Did a challenge that is doing where you create a character based on any zone from the Sonic series. So here is Splash the Hedgehog, referencing Splash Hill Zone from Sonic 4. I tried to make him look like he has CEL shading since Sonic 4 has CEL shading. Thoughts?

So, this piece is highly experimental. Working on testing new linework, flat/cel style, as well as a psuedo-rendered coloring style. If the render style works, this could save me a LOT of time because as much as I love painting, it takes SO long to fully paint out lines.

Depends on the type of shading you're doing.

I usually don't shade eyes in cel shading unless something is in front of them.
However, in soft shading, I lightly shade around them with a type of blue.

Here's an example.
