I love these little gems by @WalterSimonson! Also because #FrogThor beats #CapWolf any day of the 80s & 90s. https://t.co/di1JiykCoq
For context, "chocolate chip" is the nickname for the US 6-colour desert camouflage, a pattern used by the US in the 80s and 90s. I just changed the colour for this.
I wish Tsukasa Jun had worked for Capcom instead of mainly Psikyo in the 1990s. Could use some more vintage Street Fighter art from him.
@CShadowness @thenegotiator95 That's Kid Vid, leader of the Kid's Club. His whole thing was about video games and tech. Wouldn't be surprised to find out that the VR comparison may have been intentional despite the technology being much more primitive in the 90s.
Everything was "extreme" this and "extreme" that in the 90s.
In the post-millennium everything is an academy.
Oof...that's good. You've successfully backed me up into my safe place.
If @SamSeder sold out in the 90s... https://t.co/N599vdi72x
@WolfAfterHours Natsune Tachibana of Sei Shoujo Sentai Lakers is my go to since she hasn't been relevant since the early half of the 90s. On the other hand, that's also why she sticks out-- not many others really had sizes like this back in 1996.
This week I discovered that Gladiators is on Youtube so I was having some serious nostalgia moments watching a couple of episodes. That's what Saturday evenings were all about back in the 90s. I miss that show. So I thought I would draw my favourite Gladiator, @jet_loves as Jet.
Importantly for the widespread adoption of cinematic influence on the comics aesthetic (something Byrne helped to cultivate), three-point perspective also allows comics to better replicate the “dutch angle” camera techniques favoured by directors in the 1990s. 3/6
Our #womeninthearts celebration continues with a look at the work of #AlisonWatt. Rising to prominence in 1987 after winning the Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery, Watt was a leading figure in British figurative painting in the 1990s... https://t.co/d84aUpgFTT
Taking breaks between commissions to work on my anime girls. This is the first of a series that will get harder as they go on.
My character has a name now, Janedo, as in Jane Doe, like a pornstar from the 90s.
Appropriate.
Brain's going weird places again. This time it's thinking how Nintendo & Sega may have inadvertently laid the seeds of the modern furry fandom back in the early 90s.🤔
This week in Drugs & Wires we're tackling the basics of webdesign in the 90s. Yes, I did code it for real. All par for the course with our comic.

After healing Marin’s face, in the manga Leona comments about how “a face is a woman’s life” and that they must always keep pretty. These remarks were left out of the anime, presumably for being too 90s.
I miss when I was just some guy making Pokémon fansites in Geocities, with RPG Maker 95 Pokémon fangames in the late '90s.
er I keep forgetting hashtags are a thing #PokemonGOTour #Pokemon #PokemonGo #Pokemon25 #PokemonDay
@JanRockArt I'd probably say the CAPCOM games of the mid to late 90s. Particularly Mega Man 8, Mega Man Legends, Street Fighter Alpha and Rival School. The dynamic poses, exaggerated proportions, bold colors, that's what I still love about thier art from back then. Nothing but inspiration.
We've gathered together the 11 MUST-READ Shoujo manga series from the 1990s. There's no time to waste.

Mizuho Kageyama drew some illustrations of Vega in the early 90s. She has since switched to 3D and has worked on Street Fighter V recently.
