I will add pages to this thread as I complete editing/color-correcting them, as the original scans I took from the WSJ issue are very yellowed.
Toriyama's advance announcement illustration of his new "Dragon Ball series" within WSJ No. 50 (1984/11/13) — Serialization began 11/20
Before teaching dinosaurs, we had dragons ride balls first! You might notice Toriyama is still hailed as the "Gag Emperor" thanks to Dr. Slump.
Wait why everyone talking abt phantom seer getting axed? Ima be so mad if shonen jump axes this it’s so good man, this is one of the new series out of wsj I’m actually enjoying

The "Hoyoyo Card Special No. 8" appendix featured within WSJ, No. 47 (1980/10/21)
It's all about the silly aliens visiting Penguin Village as we close with the final card. From Dodongadon to the Great King Niko-chan himself, we've met some quality friends overcosmos, haven't we?
it’s hard to believe this manga is published in WSJ. soo much blood. lol excellent read so far though. the art on particular is striking and inspiring to me. great paneling, framing, and easy to follow action.
If you like Itachi & Sasuke pre- massacre type of brother dynamic i would suggest checking out "Our blood oath" by Kazu Kakazu. The 2 MCs are what i imagine the Uchiha brothers would be like if Itachi just took Sasuke and ran off instead. They're new series from WSJ, support them
