Manga Vs. Anime

This is why you gotta like Nichijou's anime adaptation. They took some liberties with a few details and angles, but it still follows the manga extremely well overall.

Nichijou truly is and will always be a true unsung masterpiece of anime.

As the years went by I also took more liberties while drawing his tail, and instead of focusing on keeping a consistent maple pattern I started to “wing it”, focusing on the fluffyness and shapes of it instead, same with the ears too! Last year’s pride drawing is a clear example!
