-multiply layer -lay over the flats in a clipping mask - a semi dark colour: red and pinks for warm, purple or blues for more cooler lighting -use white to build in the areas light would touch (i prefer working from dark to light) - + a 2nd multiply layer for just darker shadows

Since we’ll be saying bye to 3D Vale soon here’s a fun fact.

Vale doesn’t have any skin under her clothes. It was all erased in order to prevent skin clipping through the fabric when she moves. So she’s really just a head, hands, and legs.

And, when using clipping masks, they dont bother each other! meaning that you can have several clipping mask layers all connected to the same regular layer like this!

it essentially just lets you draw "inside the lines" of the layer bellow the clipping mask layer. works wonders for when you're coloring too!

I'm teaching myself blender because I'm stumped on how to do my outfit in live2d... just doing low-poly stuff for now. my mesh was pretty okay for a while but then the mirror modifier made some vertices cross and it got all tangly (at least I know to check clipping for next time)
