Yea I def see the polynian style ball jointed limbs going around. In said redesign I tried going for something else and took inspiration from the CAST race from Phantasy Star Online 2 wherein the joints are semi-internal but there's still some visible segmentation:

It's akin to why I prefer Uekawa's older, rubberhose-style Sonic art to some of his newer stuff that gives Sonic more defined joints and armature akin to his 3D models; they're both the same style, but differ

However, the older version of the knee joints all cracked at the same location while the new version is holding up just fine. This is a good stress testing.

Replacement joints will only take an hour to build, so, no big deal.
