Probably at least once a week, I think about how deserves a more than anyone I can think of, but for some inexplicable reason it never happens. The fact that he hasn’t received one deeply undermines the credibility of the ‘s awards, imho!

English artist Randolph Caldecott, whose work would impact illustrations for children's books during the 19th century, was born in 1846. Maurice Sendak referred to his work as the "beginning of the modern picture book." The Caldecott Medal was named after him.
