According to Sarah she remembered having her hair swiped or accidentally flicked resulting in her pins coming loose and her copper gold locks tumbling down. Sarah becomes Fanny @ https://t.co/tFm6yshGeS

Burne-Jones also painted the Circe in oil and watercolour. Zambaco modelled for her too, preparing the potions to change trespassing sailors into pigs.
Circe's story appealed to the later Pre-Raphaelites like Waterhouse, who shows her in the fullness of her powers

For a few of my favourite Pre-Raphaelite
Burne-Jones loved the Arthurian story of Merlin & Vivien (aka Nimue).
'The Beguiling of Merlin' is currently on show in Pre-Raphaelite Sisters
Maria Zambaco & Fanny Cornforth are the witches here. (1/2)

I Am Half-Sick of Shadows (1915) by J.W. Waterhouse (UK, 1849–1917). Our lady is confined in her tower, viewing the world outside only through reflections in the mirror. Note the loom shuttles look like boats, a foreshadowing of her watery death.

Yesterday I had the chance to visit the Pre-raphaelite sisters and Blake exhibitions. Both were great and well worth seeing!

Ferdinand von Aegir is a Pre-Raphaelite muse, you can't convince me otherwise 😩😤🥀🧡
(all by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, mid/late 1800's)

Feeling very inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite Sisters exhibition and wondering who my next sister should be. I have started a Jane Avril/ Toulouse Lautrec figure, but will be making more at https://t.co/XOm4MP1HYf

‘Pre-Raphaelite Sisters’ is a marvel - offering new insights into the world of these talented & beautiful Victorian women.
Works like ‘Elgiva’ by Joanna Boyce Wells esp moving. And ‘The Beguiling of Merlin’ is there too!
Thank you

Sir Patrick Spens by Elizabeth Siddall, 1856
In true Pre-Raphaelite fashion, Siddall was a poet painting a poem (Sir Patrick Spens is a traditional Scottish ballad)

Also fun with pre-Raphaelite drawings https://t.co/nuJk6fLtGa

Something new to show! Opportunistic Dragon, for MtG's new Throne of Eldraine set. This guy was a lot of fun, inspired by classical dragons from medieval/pre-raphaelite art.

The original will be up for auction on Ebay soon.
