The EarthBound trophies clearly are just recreations of the original game's clay artworks. Just like Mario's trophy, it's great to see in-game versions of models you otherwise only see in promotional artwork

What's really surprising is that they actually had trophies for human Pokémon characters! You absolutely never see any of those in later Smash games (with the exception of Pokémon Trainer), so it's really fun to see them in Melee, even if it's just two

In regards to the other Pokémon trophies, I think it's safe to assume that, the ones that don't reuse the Poké Ball models just use the Pokémon Stadium ones. But then there's this Meowth with a guitar, which I believe is some sort of preview of Pokémon Channel?

The Star Fox protagonists all use models based off their appearance in Star Fox 64. Most of the other classic trophies try to use completely new models based off older designs, but these just straight up reuse the low poly aesthetic from the most recent Star Fox game

It's really interesting to look back at Melee's trophies, they were made during the transition from N64 to GameCube, most of them are exclusively made for this game instead of being reused, and a lot of them were unique interpretations of how these characters would look in 3D

To my surprise it could, and I played and beat it. Really enjoyed it. Though I really such at rhythm, so the final stage kicked my ass all over creation. May go back and get the all the trophies.
