I think this is the best job I've done at watercoloring so far! I've been practicing at being more painterly with it (I used to just fill entire shapes with flat washes), and I love the gradations and white space in it. I still have some habits to break, but I'll get there! ^w^

Not wanting to be left /w gigantic paper pads I won't use, I experimented with the Arto papers to see if anything stuck, and I think I figured it out:
-Cold Press works VERY WELL with Copic Markers.
-Hot Press is great with inks and greyscale washes.

That's what I have to do with my ink wash pieces, as I never tape those and they warp due to very wet washes. I press them for at least two weeks, and they recover from that. Worth a shot!

This painting was actually an old sketch from when I was trying out an old stock of Maruman Mix Media 204.5g. It surely is old, note the mildew spots that appears when I laid watercolor washes.

I did enjoy messing about with the gouache - vastly preferable to oil or acrylic for me. Need to stop trying to do washes and layers as if it were watercolor. Love the smooth colors and creaminess of the paint.
