I guess it was a nice request for me to redesign. Even though I tried to draw it, I couldn’t do well. I love Fujimoto’s character design of Makima SO much. If I find another better idea, I wanna try again.

and what's weird is they actually got this right with one of their first attempts! this feels like a much better approach and id love to see something like this that's more up to date with modern technical capabilities as well as the current artwork of uekawa.
like beyond them just like. not holding up very well they also still don't really feel unified with the 2d artwork like with a character like mario.
and i think the approach they're taking with making the 2d art look more like the 3d art instead of vice versa is. ew
