No existing ancient text names her. Her name comes from Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s 1762 poem ‘Pygmalion’.
There are two Galateas in myth. The other Galatea is a sea-nymph whose lover is killed by a jealous cyclops & she saves him by turning him into a river spirit.
I'm honestly surprised I've never revealed this character before; Meet Dr. Samuel Brosnan, head of Brosnan Laboratories, and Cobalt's creator/father. He's one of the many brilliant minds responsible for the world Dawn City exists in. He also makes a lot of dad jokes.
