oh yea heres some chain-drawing progress. draw a strip to define the angle and twist, draw every other chainlink to get the size/spacing down (red), draw the rest of the chains (blue), ham up the perspective, do line art over it. time-intensive, relaxing (kinda)

realizing what's been messing with me on this thing. the perspective? it should be the opposite way.....
