As a writer, it can be hard not overdoing a gag that you really like, but you have to keep in mind that only doing it on OCCASION means it'll have more impact on the reader.

I LOVE the bottom panel B-plot "comic strip" gag, but we've only done it twice.

A little thing I’ve always dug about Ratchet & Clank is how major plot developments are structured around the two acquiring a new ship.
Such as how of course their emotionally lowest point (the end of Umbris) is represented by them having to drive a ship with the Qwark logo.
